Planned maintenance of the toll sale systems of the Hungarian National Toll Payment Services plc on Sunday, 15th April 2018
Due to scheduled system development and maintenance, the Hungarian National Toll Payment Services plc (Nemzeti Útdíjfizetési Szolgáltató Zrt., NÚSZ Zrt.) will suspend the sale of road use authorisations on Sunday 15th April, 2018 between 01:00 and 05:00 (CET). During that time it will not be possible to purchase E-vignettes or HU-GO permits (for trucks over 3.5 tons ) through any of the known channels.
In accordance with the applicable law (1st January, 2018) NÚSZ Zrt. does not impose a penalty on vehicles without a valid E-vignette within 60 minutes of the end of the stated time interval. However, this 60-minute grace period does not apply to trucks over 3.5 tons in the HU-GO system.
Regardless of the above, it is still a basic rule that toll road sections can only be driven with valid authorizations. Therefore, it is advisable to purchase the necessary authorization in advance either online https://ematrica.nemzetiutdij.hu or https://hu-go.hu or at one of the sales points or customer services offices of NÚSZ Zrt.
Those customers who use an on-board device (OBU) for their trucks over 3.5 tons, are not affected by the maintenance, provided that they have purchased sufficient cover for the toll usage planned for that period. If the balance does not provide sufficient coverage, we recommend you to top up the balance before the maintenance or to purchase a route ticket.

The fee can be purchased in advance at several points around the motorway; at NUSZ’s own sales points (customer service) and at other retailers (e.g. petrol stations). The fee can also be purchased online, via text message and via a smart phone application. For more information about how to pay for the toll fee and location of the sales points in Hungary and at the borders, please visit: www.toll-charge.hu.
Before you pay the fee for the Hungarian roads, you must confirm and make sure that the period of validity, vehicle registration mark, vehicle category and country code are correctly entered. Therefore, the registered owner of the vehicle is always responsible when paying the fees to make sure that all details have been entered correctly.
If you have received a notification (Penalty Charge Notice) from EPC and you believe that you had a valid authorisation at the time, please check that all details are correct on the counter foil (e-Vignette/e-Matrica) and please contact EPC with a copy and also a copy of your Vehicle Registration Document (all pages).
